I'm currently experimenting with retrofit to install a commercially available LCD clock into the existing clock/switch panel. If I get it to work the original backlight will illuminate the LCD. I'm looking for a dead clock or just the bezel (the small trim faceplate that surrounds the LCD) It just snaps onto the face of the clock. It can be removed without removing anything else from the car. This piece could easily fit into an envelope & dropped into the mail.
