Factory fitted Xenon headlights
Hello my car is a S type XS 2007 Diesel I am hoping that someone can help me,I bought from a breakers yard Xenon headlights off of a 2007 S type. the garage putting them on for me,has come across a problem,(1) he cant find a wiring diagram of the lighting system,(2).He has got them working fine but the 4 wires controlling the self levelling system he cant sort out,(3) the outside of the Ballasts are live and he cant think that is correct.
Please can someone help by telling me I can get a wiring diagram for the lighting circuit, or better still has some one got a wiring diagram that I can have or copy,Please Please help because I am already in for about £700 without fitting and I dont want to just take them of again and go back to the useless standard lights
Heres hoping
regards
Roger

Fix for standard lights is brighter bulb like nightbreakers.
To be legal (e.g. for insurance and to avoid risk of trouble with police) and to pass MoT you must have self-levelling and headlamp powerwash for HIDs. Of course you need the controlling modules. They need the sensors which you would also need to fit. Then you'll need jag diags to program it all. Overall, not the easiest of jobs (I'd use nightbreakers).

You will be legal if you fit the Jaguar original Xenon lights provided you have the lamp wash kit fitted and it works re MOT.
You should be able to download the electrical guide from this site or JTIS to get the wiring. On the XK8/R the self leveling sensor is part of the light, not sure if this is the case for the S-Type. You would still get a second set of connectors for the rear axle sensor but it is not essential for the operation of the lights. As you have four wires it could be the light sensor is also external and you will need this for the lights to self level. If this is broken or missing the lights default to the lowest setting.
