I just had my '00 V8 S-type's air conditioning evacuated and refilled and it did nothing for it. It has been out for a while and made a hissing noise when you turned it on. Now it no longer hisses, but the air coming out is no cooler. I tried the battery reset thing, thinking it may be the mixer doors, but I'm not sure I did it 100% correctly, since someone said you have to adjust the setting in a certain way directly after the reset. After I restarted the car I turned the AC all the way down, and then turned it all the way up to hi heat, Is that correct?

Also, any ideas on what else could be wrong and tell-tale signs of certain problems?

I can hear the compressor kick on when standing outside the car, but it obviously isn't doing soething right.

 

Still wide open for possiblities. What are the pressures? Is the heater working correctly?

 

I have the same problem it is going in for service next week. the hissing was a leak now they have to find it.
