Hi Everyone,

I just signed up because I am in the market to buy one of these beautiful cars. I have owned, restored and hot rodded many cars in my time. I currently have a 1950 Ford Woodie with all modern suspension, engine, brakes etc. Also a 1957 Tbird that is mechanically completely done from the rear end to the radiator and high tech engine. This car will make room for a Jag convertible. I started looking at the 2000 era but the cylinder lining problem worrries me so I gradually have crept up to a 2007 XKR Convertible. Now i read about thermostat, AC drainage, battery draining problems and I'm wondering how far up to go to get away from these issues. I have found a Radiance Red convertible with about 45,000 miles on it for $35,000. It has the AC drainage problem and now a speaker problem that requires replacing a door panel for $1,800. The pictures are great but I'm thinking a price of around $25,000 takes care of unforseen problems. Any recommendations for me?

Hello,
Any time you buy a used car, there's a reason someone else sold it, maybe more than one. Also, every model or year of any make of car has some problems, even brand new ones. Otherwise we wouldn't hear of so many recalls.

Look around, find a car that calls to you; sit in it, take it for a drive, and go from there.

We don't own or drive Jaguars because it's the logical choice, there is absolutely no logic involved. It's emotion pure and simple. Once you accept that fact, everything else either falls into place or it doesn't.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
