Hello everybody, my STR is due for its 100k tune-up.. I plan on buying all the parts myself and just paying my mechanic (my uncle) for labor.. Where can i find the best prices for all the necessary parts.? i just had new windshield wipers installed, throttle body cleaned, and throttle body gasket replaced yesterday. . what other things should i make sure my mechanic checks?? thanks.!

You're in SOCAL. Get everything that you can at the auto parts store. They have the same plugs, and oil as a dealer would have. The oil and air filters don't have to be Jag and they were probably made by someone else anyway.

coils- $70 a piece....look around ebay for good used, I got a set like new with 52,000 miles on them $12 a piece.


you forgot to add drive belt...get a gatorback belt $19 shipped

Also with that kind of mileage you might consider either taking out the fuel injector and have them professionally cleaned $18. Or this to me is the best option,go on ebay you can buy brand new fuel injectors from Jaguar for $21 a piece.

 

achysklic - thanks for your help bro.. ill most def. be lookng into ebay.. those coils prices though im having misfires on on both 3rd and 8th cylinder. my uncle reccomended that i change the coils, but if i change 1, that itd be best if i changed them all.. however, at $560 for all 8, im not too sure how badly i would want to do that.. lol.. thanks again.
