2000 S-type 4.0 rear caliper piston won't go all the way back
So, doing brakes on my 2000 stype 4.0. I have a piston adapter and turning the piston clockwise, I can't get it to go back far enough for the pads to fit.
I can get it so far and it won't go back anymore. I can turn the adapter counter clockwise and the piston starts to come back out.
It just goes back and keeps spinning without rewinding any further.
I've searched and read countless posts and how-tos etc. Including http://www.gusglikas.com/images/Auto...RearBrakes.pdf
My 2000 doesn't have an electronic park brake does it? Either way I turned the car off while holding in the handbrake button - didn't do a thing.
Help?
edit: I realize now the parking brake on the 2000 is mechanical/cable operated.

The ol cat needs a little force - I solved this fellas, turns out I wasn't applying enough inward force to get it to keep rotating inwards at the end. Gave it a bit more persuasion while turning and it went in.
Hopefully my post helps someone else in the future!

My advice after reading is two thoughts.
One, make sure the cap for the reservoir is open and if the caliper is stubborn then loosen the bleed circuit at the caliper to get the piston reset in the bore then formally bleed that caliper.
