I can't say I know what position the keyway will be in when everythings in position, but I know there is only one slot the special tool can fit in the flexplate. Just because the cams are locked does not mean the crank is in the correct position.

if it's the same as the XK-8 engine you take the crankshaft sensor out and you can see the flywheel, put a socket on the crankshaft pulley turn the engine, you'll see a series of identical square holes then a long hole,then more holes the same as the first ones.

The one you're looking for is roughly the same size but circular with a flat edge, there's only one on the whole flywheel that the pin will fit in so you can't get it wrong
