Ouch! My 2000 S-Type 3.0 overheated the other day without warning and now I have a leak under the coolant resevoir. Has any one experienced such a problem? I took to my local mechanic and they said water pump is fine but they were scared to dig too deep and suggested to take to dealer. Sitting, the car does not leak, idling it starts small drip, driving, it flows out. The engine seems fine and it's not overheating, just have major leak now. Any advice will be much appreciated.

 

Okay, after reading much more info. on this and other forums, it looks like I have a cracked coolant resevoir tank. The dealer wants $124 for a new one. I just wanted to see if any one has ever had the pleasure of installing one of these and if they remember how long it took and how to actually find the mounting bolts??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the input.

 

I had to replace my tank. It is an easy job. It took me about 30 minutes. Remember you will loose some coolant. Have some Jaguar coolant available when you do the job.
