I have a 2001 jaguar s type 3.0 and it was having issues with it wouldn't go into 4th and 5th so I had my buddy who's ASE replaced a spring in the transmission throttle body that was supposed to fix it.
He also changed the tranny fluid. The car has 113,000 miles.
After completing the job the car won't go into reverse or drive, it just spins.
What could be wrong with it?!
Any help appreciated my buddy's tried but he's stumped and web search isn't helping!

 

Without knowing what your ASE pal did, it is a pretty tall order to expect someone to diagnose your problem remote control from their computer at home and I think the "Psychic Friends Network" has gone out of business...

The good news is that your early S-type has a Ford auto-box, which is very common and a competent transmission shop should be able to sort it...
