Hello all,
My sister-in-law's S-type has a misfire on cylinder #5, could someone please tell me the cylinder numbering for the V-6? Sorry, I know this has been discussed quite a bit on this forum, but I can't seem to find what I am looking for.
THANK YOU in advance!

For the 2003-and-newer S-Type 3.0 V6, the cylinders are numbered thusly:
Rear of car
5 6
3 4
1 2
Front of car
You'll have to remove the intake manifold to get to that number 5 coil and spark plug.

Excellent point. With the intake manifold already off, replacing the two IMT O-rings will take you about five minutes total and should cost you no more than $5 at your Jaguar parts department. I replaced ours a month ago. The original yellow-colored factory-installed O-rings were not thick enough or round enough to provide a long-lasting seal and keep oil from seeping out underneath where the black plastic base of the tuner valves bolt into the metal surface of the intake manifold. Two 8mm bolts for each of the two tuner valves are all that hold the tuner valves in place. The new green-colored O-rings are thicker and rounder and will solve that oil seepage problem. Definitely do this procedure if you're going to pull your intake manifold anyway to get to your number 5 cylinder - it's a no-brainer....
