My 2005 Jaguar S type trunk wont close. I can hear a click when I push the button but the latch wont stay when I press it. Also i cant use the key to lock the trunk. If the latch wont stay and I cant lock it with a key what could that mean?

I had the same problem..you have to replace the trunk latch..not too hard of a job, just take off the plastic covers and then you can see the latch...it is tied into the entire locking system of the car..there are a couple of pop off covers that hide the screws, then it is pretty straight forward...the hardest part is getting the electrical connector off...I got my replacement on ebay from a wrecking yard...just make sure you get one with at least 30 days warranty...good luck
