So there comes a time where the factory supercharger needs a rebuild but instead of doing a rebuild on the factory one, I purchased a M122 supercharger Cheaply for a XLRV.
It has .2 more displacement of the factory in a much larger inlet. Slightly more efficiency in factory form, but will be having it ported.
Will be designing a better flow throttle body elbow that was support 90 mm in diameter with a 90 mm throttle body. Also the upgrading the intake tube to 3.5 inches with a pro maf.
hoping to get another 50-60 hp from where I am now.
It will be great to see how you get on with this project.
The original supercharger is indeed limited in reguard to the volume of air it can deliver.
It gets max air flow before max RPM in standard form.
The flow at lower RPM can be increased with a pully change and also with intake improvments.
But I do not think this will give you more max air flow at higher RPM.
With a more efficiant replacement supercharger that can deliver more max air should be better.
However, as the engine power goes up, you may find that heat is your enemy.
Not sure about 60hp, but if you want 600+hp I have 2.6 KB kits I can make. I can also make the kit with a 2.1 supercharger for over 500bhp. Below is a picture of one we're just mocking up with a bored TB, but we're going to re-make the rear elbow with some improvements.
