I don't know if you'll have any luck with an answer on that one. All the interchange manuals are going to show it different. And It will be a long shot finding anyone that has tried. If you could find a local wrecker that has one, you could pull yours off and put them side by side. Even a blown one would do just for comparison.
I've done some work on SRS systems and they still give me the creaps. I'd be hard pressed to mess with it just for the cat but to each their own.
