Default any good independent mechanics near bossier city, la?

hi, i have a 2003 jag s type 4.2 and i need my a/c compressor replaced and the shop is charging 1100. i can't afford it but i hear this is the regular price for the replacement. if anyone knows any good mechanics near Bossier City, LA, please let me know

Be sure and have the dryer replaced at the same time. Almost all compressors will not honor the warranty if you do not. Read the paperwork with the compressor!!

I think what your finding is our standard advice.

If you can't DIY the repairs it will be an expensive lesson owning a used Jaguar!

Note compressors are in the $200-$450 range to buy on EBay.

I did the compressor/Dryer/oil and new belt for well under $500 on my 2005 STR (Much more difficult to work on because of the added super charger) but I DIY the repairs.

Have a look at the workshop manual. You may decide that you can do the job yourself and save a lot of money.

Good advice!

Even if you don't do the repairs get the JTIS and the JEPC. Not many shops know much if anything about the S Type.

This forum is by far your best resource.
