Default Any heavy footers here?

I always tell myself everyday I should ease off the pedal leaving my house but its a must to listen to my STR supercharger, Now I dont drive crazy or be cutting people off but I drive fast so I was wondering how everyone here with there STR's drive? ever get bored of going fast at times. That sport button is addicting to listen to the engine!!!!!

I take it easy. Most of the time.

The STR's been sitting for too long (snow, salt, sand) so I took her for a spin a few nights ago and what do I see speeding on the expressway at about 80 MPH.... A mint cherry red 1998 Mark VIII LSC with a nasty exhaust ... my very first car, one which I still have fond memories of from my college days (great back seat for late night rendevous!!!!). Blew by him and slowed down to about 70 and he took the bait.

We played tag for a bit and the old Mark (300HP stock) couldn't keep up but it was fun. I miss that car!

hahaha good one, reminds me every time I see an older s-type (my previous car also which was a 2001 S-type 3.0) Automatically think of the past also (even the back seat part) and the things I shouldnt have done to it like suicide doors!!!

hi
if you want know how person drive you also need to ask what the mpg he is getting on the STR...

Like Risky said.. most of the time is pretty easy just enjoying the ride.. but when challenge.. i do like to be in front.. or try to be in the front....
i got about 20-21 mpg (car is used on the weekend and night time ... not for work)

what about yourself? how do you drive?

Lead foot here. I only drive the R on long trips, never really around town. I usually drive above 100mph for extended periods. When i drive to FL , im over 120mph for a few hours if there light traffic. Went thru VA and NC like the blink of an eye.

Thats insane man. I dont normally drive your normal "120 MPH" because Miami is hard to be speeding for a long period of time, not even on highways in Miami but I know my highways really like really good. "Bake the car" lol

Im the same way trying to be in front riski, but its risky also being in front with a heavy foot knowing you could first to get pulled over. Do you have a radar detector?

Oh no its my daily ride so I do look at the mpg and what not and even with the gas spending but atleast thats not my concern because I know what I was getting into when I bought my STR, I drive pretty fast but not to fast, dont like to get attention at the same time seeing a black STR (which most people dont know about STR which makes it even more exciting to speed up and smoke everyone, well not everyone lol). I refuel atleast once even twice a week at $45-$55 per visit at the gas station.

hahahaaha.. so i wonder what happen if all of us happened to be in the same town... driving on the same hwy at the same time..
who gonna be in the front.....
(should be rolled the dice to decide)

I belive we all need to have radar detector in the car... i use Valentine1 for my STR.... but was considering installing custom radar detector with lazer shifter .. but just too expensive... rather spend it to improve the SC.....

I get on it at least once a week. It is fun to have new people in the car and floor it just to see their reaction.

I think if you own an STR, you have to have a heavy right foot, or at least intermittent urges to do so. The car is at its best when cruising.....

I make it a point to romp on it at least once on my 15 mile commute to work, both on the way and on the way back. Problem is that every road on that journey has a 35mph speed limit. So you gotta pick your spots carefully. I don't speed much in neighborhoods since I hate it when people speed in mine, so i have to wait for open stretches of road.

And it's almost impossible to really zip around until school is out for the year because the buses clog everything up, and you don't want to come ripping around a tight corner to find a bus full of kids sitting there waiting for you (thank you Brembo).

She's been sitting in the garage for a month and a half now.....withdrawl symptoms are severe let me tell you....

I drive about 90 miles round trip each day commuting most of which is “carpet slipper” driving however, every now and then I just have to let it do its thing. The whole carpet slipper performance offsets the spikes in speed so I see 25MPG on average.

I dont know how you made it through VA down I95 and not get hit by all the VA State Troopers......Even radar detectors are illegal there.....I lived in NC for 10 yrs so I know the area well....very ballsy.....
