Auto-headlamp issue
I've been having an issue with my headlamps for quite a while now and I'm wondering if anyone had any thoughts about it?
The issue is that occasionally one of my headlamps (on the driver's side) doesn't ignite while the other one always does. The lamps are HID and I keep them set in the Auto position so they should turn on in low day light conditions. When I notice that one is not on I can I turn them off and back to the Auto setting and they both ignite successfully. It's only when left in the Auto position that one often doesn't fire up automatically.
This does not always happen and I don't actually know of frequent it is since from inside the car I can't really tell if both lights are working. But now, whenever I pull up behind a car at a stop light, I look to see if there are two patches of light on the other car's bumper. Most time there are, but not every time...
Has anyone else experienced this? My car is a '08 4.2 with 57K miles on it.
Thanks

I am experiencing the same issue with the passenger side. I believe it's just a failing bulb that's going bad. I'm going to change both of them Soon. If that doesn't resolve the issue I will swap in a new ballast from my spare lights.

Great, let me know how it works out. I have both a spare bulb and a spare ballast so I'll probably follow your lead.
