Default Automatic trans missing a shift?

So I just got done doing the engine replacement in my 05 jaguar s-type v8 sport, and I drained all the fluids besides brakes and the diff, I did fill the transmission but do I need to top it of? I have been driving and from a stop when I floor it it lights the tyres in 1st gear then shifts into neutral, I have to let fully of for it to shift into 2nd, mind you this was not in manual mode, was in drive with sport mode on and traction off. Is this something to do with the trans itself or is it just low on fluid?

This has happened 2 times so I have been driving carefully with traction on ever since, it worries me tho cause I get sideways and then boom in neutral and on the limiter which is obviously not good for annything on the car

There is a specific fill routine that must be performed, The following video shows this from 3:50 onwards:

The car must be level to achieve a proper fill, BTW...
