Welcome to the forum Worleybyrd,

Take a look at post #2 in this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...g-light-79119/ and let us know what code you have.

You may also want to post an intro in the new members section?

Not reported before so I suspect the seat belt retractors are in a bind. I would unbolt the retractor and see if you can work them free that way.

Are they latched into the buckle or are they unlatched but too tight to pull the seat belt further out?

Better to separate your questions as people searching can find the information easier.

Take the vehicle to a Jaguar dealership! Your babies saftey and for the matter of fact everyone who rides in the back seats saftey.

The rear seats have nothing to do with the airbag light blinking.

Take the car to a dealer to have the saftey (seat) belts checked!

The seatbelts are not hooked to the buckle and they are tight against the seats. So you can't pull them out to use them. Side note as soon as I realized they were not working the kids don't ride in the car yes safety first!!!!! The code the air bag was giving me ( 13 ) stated its the " crash sencer bank full have dealer reset " I never hit anything so I don't understand that one . And thanks for all the help this far

I believe the rear seats fold forward. There should be a rope or....in the trunk that you can pull to unlatch the rear passenger seat. The belts may be hung up thereabouts..

That car has suffered a frontal impact and the explosive seatbelt pretensioners have blown off. Most likely the body shop repaired the fronts and the airbags, and completely ignored the rear.

If you just bought the car, I'd return to them and insist they correct them, and the restraints module that has reached the maximum number of deployments.

Good luck!

Somebody's not doing their homework here. Flash code 13 signifies the Restraints Module's crash data memory is full. Meaning it has performed the maximum number of device deployments. The only correction here is RCM replacement. After that a full diagnosis of the airbags etc. can be performed to verify they are in order.

Cheers,

Thanks Steve! That is down to a level I had no idea even existed.

I know the government can force you/impound the car to produce the black box for traffic accidents. To see what the car was doing prior to the crash.

Is the RCM this black box that is talked about that stores all the data?

No, actually there is no "Black Box" in our cars. The data referred to is stored in the ECM. It can't "spy" on you like some people think. There are a set of parameters that are monitored in a rolling eight or ten second "window". When an event occurs, say an inertia switch trips, an airbag goes off or a throttle default occurs, that rolling window is snapped and stored. That snapshot is stored such that you can see about two thirds of the time period before the event and about one third after the event. What you actually see is a bunch of single snapshots of the parameters at about .8 second intervals. Kinda complicated, I know, but that's the gist of it.

Cheers,

the dealer said they reset " everything " what ever that means haha so i will have to ask them about the rcm and replacing that i did see on here about the 13 crash memory being full and did ask the ( Detroit jag dealer ) about that and they seem to be dumbfounded on that next stop will be a dealer in columbus ohio and see if they can fix the air bag light from staying on. will update if they can get it right......by the way the Detroit dealer said the air bags are working as they should so idk about this one. i would think if the light is on then the air bags would NOT work and i really don't want to find out if they do or not !!!!!! update soon thanks guys

Just to clarify.....

The airbag system is just like the ABS system, if the warning light is on, you ain't got none!
