Default Bleeding Brakes - Can I Use A Mityvac Brake Bleeding Kit

I would like to bleed the brakes to put fresh DOT4 fluid in the system on my 2000 3.0 S-Type.

The JTIS manual recommends using the old 2-person method of having someone push on the brake pedal to squeeze fluid out of the bleed nipple. I have a Mityvac blake bleeding kit that I have used on other cars that creates a vacuum to pull the fluid out thus making it a one-man-job. You basically pump about 10-15 times and then open the bleed nipple.

Info on this kit is at:
http://www.mityvac.com/info_sheets/07000.pdf
The manual is at (see pages 17-21 on brake bleeding):
http://www.mityvac.com/user_manuals/07000-06820.pdf

So can I use this kit on my S-Type without damaging the anything with the brakes or ABS? In addition, is there anything special I need to do?

Sincerely,
Jim

No, it won't damage the system. However, have you ever used it before? The reason I ask is I have used about 3 different ones and none of them ever worked worth a darn. In fact, I bought a pressure bleeder (air to diaphragm style) and tried it out on a vehicle right after using one of those vacuum pumps and I got quite a bit more air out of the system.

Yes, I have used it before and it worked as advertised (on a '96 Mazda 626).
