Default Burning Smell at WOT?

I never "floored" the accelerator yet, however, merging onto the highway this morning, I put the trans in sport mode and went WOT for a few seconds, maybe through three speeds, then I smelled a faint burning smell inside the car... Any ideas? I know there's no fluid leaks at all.

Which motor?

It would help us to help you if you would just add your vehicle specs (year, model, motor etc...) to your signature as soooo many of have here.

You might have to check mark "show signature" in UserCP.

Anyways the most common cause for a burning/oil smell are caused by the IMT O rings leaking. Look here for an easy check:

Sometimes the valve cover/sparkplug well gaskets leak as well.

I would also suggest that the burning smell may come from the IMT rings or the upper intake manifold gaskets. The old, yellow gaskets on the IMT O-rings in time start leaking pretty badly.
