A/C Saturday not cold but not hot either, Sunday parked. Monday morn
blowing cool air but loud hissing noise coming from under dash. I know I have A/C problem any ideas and how much is this repair going to set me back? When I get this fixed the only thing left will be the transmission. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel

 

The hissing usually starts when the AC charge gets low. I'm sure that there is nothing seriously wrong. My 2 XJ6's would do it until I recharged the AC then it would go away.

Thanks mojo the hissing was going on for a while but I thought it was a normal thing until it just kept on hissing.

 

Mine did the same 2 weeks ago. I got the system recharged and now I freeze.

 

sometimes s type just needs the freon to be recovered vacuumed and recharged.. then the hissing goes away..

 

Well it ended up being the condenser (had a hole in it) thank goodness for ex warranty only cost me $200.00. Its very cold again.
