Default Car Not Starting

I was just wondering if anyone has faced any type of electrical malfunction wherein their car would not start. I was driving my S Type yesterday back and forth on the highway, and it rode fine without any problems. When I went to drive it this morning however- I turned they key to the ignition and had no response. I'm not assuming any major components are broken etc. as the car isn't that old, and it didn't have many miles on it until I began using the car to travel up and down the highways. Does anyone have any ideas of what may cause this problem? When I turn the key, the gauge cluster lights up, and all of the needles shoot to the right.

I had that exact same problem with the instrumentation shooting to the right. It turns out all that I had to do was replace the battery which you can buy at any autoparts store.

Here is my post on this subject:

Just replaced the battery and reprogrammed the windows and the park brake. Thanks for all the advise from everyone to get me rolling! Shouts out to FJT also who spotted out that someone put in the wrong battery to begin with. Now I just have to start tackling the rest of my projects!!!
