Question Carter Fuel Fuel Pump Strainers for S-type

The program provided these numbers and a photo of the fuel filter screen. Does this part actually exist in the S-Type? Thanks in advance to everyone for the replies.

OEM / Interchange Numbers: STR47, STR88, STS241

Yes, there is an external filter screen on the bottom of the fuel pump assembly. From RockAuto, here's a picture of a Delphi FG1340. You can see the screen to the left.

The Delphi version is slightly different than your picture, but believe it snaps in place same as OEM.

The big question:

Are you having a fuel issue leading you to ask about this filter screen?

I was planning to replace it since the car is 25 years old and has over 200,000 km, and I don’t know when the fuel pump was last changed. But judging by the photo you provided, it only makes sense to replace the whole unit, because you have to take everything out to replace it. Thank you.
