Catalytic Converter ?????????

Hello,

I have a 2000 3.0 S-Type. My meter with the RPMs on it moves normally, but my Speedometer moves slowly when the car is accelerating. It seems as if the car is not getting all the power it should be getting when it accelerates. It is not an issue with the transmission because the gears switch fine, but it feels almost as if theres is some sort of resistance when I am trying to accelerate. My car gives this "i finally made" engine thrust when the car finally gets to the point its trying to get to. I have talked to 2 gentlemen who "know" cars and they both said it sound like my catalytic converter may be going bad. Would anyone be able to assist me in either determining if this is the case and if it is where can I purchase this part to have it replaced on my car.

I have had this before. Essentially a baffle inside the CAT breaks off and lodges sideways in the CAT restricting airflow. I was quite "baffled" when it happened as it restricted power SO MUCH I couldn't conceive that it was the cat.

So yeah, if it rattles replace it.
