Default Changing the Battery

So after a long cold winter I let the cat out of the bag!
Although I charged the battery up periodically and started her up; I was getting a whole bunch of codes in ETM plus a lot of misfire. The battery was the original 2006 I suspect!
I observed the vent tube wasn't connected which was probably not good. There is also a sensor connector wrapped around the clamping bar; what is that for?
Will post pictures later...
