Default compression testing

After seeing a recent thread on a spark plug change. I suggested the OP do a compression test.
This got me thinking, yes I am very ****, what are the compression ranges for the 4.2?

I have a tester and think I will run it tomorrow,(I might as well since I will be replacing the coils while I am at it) just want to know the normal ranges to expect.

Does your car have normal oil consumption? Is it running okay? Have you pulled the spark plugs and inspected the color of the electrodes?

The spark plugs tell a tale if you'll just read them.

With any aluminum head, I don't want to change any plugs or screw anything into the spark plug holes unless absolutely necessary. Aluminum heads are just too easy to crossthread. (I speak from experience.)

My plugs are fine, however right before I received my car the previous owner had new plugs installed so I have no idea what the old ones looked like.

It uses no oil, but I would like to know now if any potential problem may arise.

I have no worries about alum. heads I have ran compression test on them many times I will be extra careful though, Thanks
