RDS, the heater control valve is located up front passenger side of vehicle near the radiator itself. There appears to be 2 soleniods and 2 heater hoses attached. The passenger front wheel and inner wheel well will have to be removed along with the under pan to gain access.
RDS, I had 2 problem with coolant on my 2003 S type R
1. The overflow tank kept cracking and had to be replaced twice.
2. I had a leak behind the engine, took it to my former Jaguar dealer/repair shop and was told that it was a seal on the back of the engine. They had to drop the transmission to get to it. I have the 4.2L engine. In the end it cost me $3,200 plus since it was no longer under warranty.
Hope this does not get you scared, I hope your car is still under warranty.

Plastic, rubber, and seals are unstable, they will age and go bad, the freeze plugs go bad, because of bad or neglected coolant.
wow! Just like the Lincoln LS, the DCCV go's bad.
YES - A new Bosh DCCV on Ebay for $115, but I would suspect a bad hose going to the DCCV.
Make sure you do a proper coolant bleed procedure for Engine block + heater core.
*The dual climate control valve (DCCV) needs tobe exercised during Winter and summer so it don't seize up.
This valve provides coolant for the heater core, so the driver and passenger have there own heat control.
