Default Coolant Recovery Tank Quick Disconnect

I am dealing with a pretty significant leak, but am having an issue isolating it. I am trying to remove the Coolant Recovery Tank to inspect, but am having a little challenge with the quick disconnect a the bottom of the tank facing the engine. I successfully pulled the clip out without dropping it into the engine compartment! However, I am having an issue separating the hose from the tank. Do I simply just pull it out or is there an additional mechanism still holding in place? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

firstly well done for not dropping the clip , the o-ring seal may be sticking a little , but yes you simply slide the pipe back toward the engine . there is no other retainer .

when I did mine I had the same issue.I ended up pulling the tank off its tab mounts so i could then move it towards the passenger side to make room so I could grab the stuck hose and twist/rock the tank with the other hand and it broke free..be careful of the low coolant sensor on the bottom...you will have to disconnect the plug from it also..if you do not hold the hose it only twists and could possibly break at the plastic connector

Before you do lose that clip, safety wire it so that it cannot drop. I did mine successfully once ... BUT the second time was disaster. There is a special cosmic black hole that these clips disappear into when dropped. You have to buy a $100+ hose assembly just to get a new clip. Wrap the wire around a bolt or something near by.

GO DO IT NOW!
