This is a great thread. I just hope I can find it again when I need it this spring. I have a few buzzes and rattles as well.

 

I just wanted to throw my $.02 in here and let everyone know that my defroster panel also broke in two right down the middle. Has anyone found a place to find a replacement that doesn't cost $200?

I think I would try to fix it by gluing a piece of plastic behind the break to reinforce it a bit. Otherwise junkyards.

Has anyone looked to see if this part is the same for the entire S Type run from 2000-2008? It sure looks like it. Maybe getting one from a later model S Type might be better? Possibly they upgraded the material?

i know this is an old thread, but just wanted to point out that any pet store sells aquarium sealant in a tube for $3.00. its silicone and waterproof. i used it to insulate the clips on the dash and it works great!
