does the 2005 jaguar s type have an inertia switch? an where it located

I bought the car from a friends mom but havent been able to get it to start, it will turn over but wont start, 2005 S Type

with 87,000 miles on it, she really didnt even drive it that much, any assistance would be appreciated

 

I agree it is a very good idea to put your car details in your group signature.

From the users handbook:

'The inertia switch is located behind the trim on the left-hand side of the vehicle, forward of the front door post, below the fascia. A finger access hole in the trim allows the driver to reset the switch.'

Sound obvious but make sure there is gas in the tank! Put in 1/2 gallon just to make sure.

 

Was it like this when you bought it? What is the history? When you try to start what does the PATS light on top of the dash do?
