I tried to search EGR, but not enough letters ....

My mechanic had the EGR off while fixing the throttle body coolant hose on my 03 STR.

Ever since it has been throwing this code indicating flow malfunction, everything is connected, and the valve moves when vacum is applied to it.

Is there a 'spring' preload whilst removing and replacing the actuator on the top of the valve - I have not seen this in my hand, but it sounds like there maybe a 'preload' setting of a rotating spring to be set when replacing the actuator onto the top of the assembly?

Can anyone enlighten me on this, I really don't think there is anything wrong with the value.

I don't know why he took the valve off for the TB. I'm guessing the gasket on reassembly is not sealing.

 

Rather an old post revived. In case anyone wishes to Search on EGR or other short words I explained how to use google to do it - it's in one of the non-specific forums (General Tech? Newbies?)

I think the main search function should be fixed. Having people use 2 ways to search takes to much time and adds to the confusion.

Agreed but it seems to be a "feature" of the forum software.

That's spelled "bug" or "mistake" as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think it'll be fixed so the awkward work-around is needed to get any useful results sometimes. Good job google didn't refuse to search on 3-letter and shorter words. Funny, I wonder why not........
