Question Engine rebuild - 4,2L V8 Supercharged (S-Type 2002)

Hello everyone,

I am running into some issues while rebuilding my 2002 S-Type R engine. My piston rod went to pieces (literally), however crankshaft and block remained untouched (verified by specialized shop). While rebuilding, I have turned onto my local official Jag dealer in Prague. They can provide me with material, however the issues is, neither them or me know, which part to order. We are talking about piston rings and main crankshaft bearings. Does anyone here know about types of bearings and piston ring sets? I know that bearings differ in dimensions - they provide coloured variants according to tolerances as far as I know. Local shop can provide me with 1) blue/green 2) blue 3) green 4) yellow 5) brown main crankshaft bearings. For piston ring sets they offer me: grade 1 / grade 2 / grade 3. I am really confused by this, the dealer tells me there are no tables available - nobody knows the dimensions. The block and crankshaft was not drilled or manipulated in any way, the block was only cleaned and honed. Crankshaft remains in original condition.
Can anybody help please? I'm lost. Block is ready to be assembled but I need the material. Desperately !

Thanks in advance for any help.

This came up in a previous thread but I can't recall who it was. Maybe a search with some key words will turn it up.

Glad to see you got a good answer. Can you post back with what you did?
We don't get to see a lot of these engines rebuilt so it's a bit of a treat when one is rebuilt.
