Default example of this being a great site

This is what its all about. Many, many thanks to Jon89!! As most know Jons wifes S was hit. Unfortunite for sure but some good has come out of it. I contacted Jon about his hood/bonnet pad that was just replaced with the remaining warranty he had. (Some of you will remember that I had a sagging, shrinkage problem). Due to the accident, the pad was going to be replaced yet again. It was close to perfect but was not quite.

Jon had went out of his way to save the "damaged" pad, then drive it to the UPS store (free of charge) where they boxed it up and sent it to me for $80.00 and change.... Saving myself over $170.00 for a new pad. Its this kind of thoughtfulness that gives me hope for this world.

Again Jon89, you are a scholar and a gentleman..
Thank you
Rick

Yeah the Jaguar forums are something else. Every time my S gets me mad and I want to sell it, I remember that I would lose this forum with the car. If you ever read the posts on the VW forums and Honda forums it's a bunch of b*tchy little 16 year old kids and every other thing they post is some sarcastic little smart *** remark. I'm glad we have such a tight group on here, that looks out for one and other. Eric

Looks good, Kudos to Jon89.

Now if you can just do something about your sagging and shrinking problem........

No worries Rick, we're all here to help each other save considerable time and money keeping these sometimes quirky S-Types in good shape and running the way we all want them to.

Don't forget that you helped me out on the rear-end grease cap and tie rods issue that you posted here back in the springtime. Had you not gone to the trouble of bringing that common failure to our attention here on the forum, I would not have caught it prior to our car's factory warranty running out in mid-July. As a result of your post I pulled the rear wheels and checked our car's rear end, it indeed had developed the problem, so I scheduled it for a warranty service visit that very week and let my warranty cover what would have been an $800 repair.

So enjoy your new hood pad, Rick - you certainly deserve it....

Agreed. Contributors to this site have provided me with extremely helpful information on the maintenance of these complex machines. It is a pleasure to come on to this forum and exchange information with knowledgeable and resourceful people. As I learn more, I plan on returning the favor.

This is a great site.

I had a sagging, shrinking problem until I got a younger girlfriend. Firmed things up good.

As for the rest, rock on! Nice to see that people can still be kind and friendly.
