Default Flimsy Plastic Dashboard

I have three cracks in my plastic dashboard near the defrost vents. I could understand my dashboard cracking under extreme temperature changes or if it very cold, but I actually saw the last crack this week. Is this a common problem with S-Types? I had heard about the wood pieces breaking, but I haven't heard about the dashboard cracking.

Wouldthis repair be covered under warranty?

It is covered under warranty and yes it is a common problem. The dash isn't what cracks though, it's the plastic vents at the end of the dash.

The Jag dealer checked and the plasticvents are NOT covered under the select edition warranty. It would have been covered under the factory warranty. They said that the plastic vent/dash is considered trim.

that reminds me of a similar case in Louisiana: the insurance companies denied insurance coverage to people who had been paying their insurance for 40 years, on the basis that "the damages were not caused by Katrina's waters and wind, but by the levies failing".Unbelievable, andtosee our own Supreme Court siding with the insurance companies is adding insult to insult!

That's why I own old Jaguars, no dash cracks, no warranty claims, and the cars are still intact!
