Look at post #6 and #7. I have photos of my situation. If yours is similar, I did a quick fix hack to keep the door closed without replacing any parts and it took about 10 seconds
The gold coloured metal clip that accepts the tab is designed to flex a little bit and spread when the fuel door is pushed in and then closes around the tab. The quick and cost free fix is to bend the gold clip, widen the gap, so that the door will close. It will not lock in place any longer but it will close and open freely. You will not need to use the remote fuel door button in the car any longer. It will just manually open and close. That is what I did and it works perfectly fine.
Ok at a closer look at mine, the tab isn't broken. So I will try bending the metal tabs a tad. I would like to see the "disc magnet" setup though. Can you explain or post pics?
