Headlights not working
I have 2005 S-Type with the 3.0l engine. My wife drove the car the other day and the parking lights would not shut off. My son discounted the positive battery cable to disable the lights. Now the battery is connected and none of the functions on the light stalk work, Trip button, lights, fog lights front and rear. Turn signals work. Any ideas? Bad stalk? Bad relay? Bad Fuse? Trying to sell the car.
Thank you,
Thank you,
+1 on checking the stalk.
What is the age and condition of the battery? After five minutes, there should be a minimum of 12.5 volts across the terminals with the ignition in the OFF position. If not, the battery must be replaced.

The MFS aka "turn signal stalk" will do strange and perplexing things with the lights on its way out. On the plus side, it is an easy change. But there's always a "but..." and this one is, I doubt a new one can be had for less than $240. So troubleshooting is time well-spent to determine that it is problematic BEFORE purchasing a replacement.
