Help with front lamp washers please.
Hello
New to using a forum...
Could someone assist with how to disable the front washers popping out when cleaning the windscreen please? We concluded that they only come out whilst the lights are on but would like to have them off permanently.
Will it just be a case of removing a fuse? If so, whereabouts please?
Much obliged,
Luke

Welcome. It might be helpful if you give us the model year of your Jaguar; the wiring harness and fuse numbers change over the production run of the S-type. Please don't come back with the "plate" details as most of us have no idea what that means, here on this side of the pond.
Also, now that you are here, it would be a good idea to stop by the New Members forum and post the expected "introduction". This will get you additional forum privileges and lets us know a bit more about you and your Jag; it can be found here:

Welcome to the forum. Per your profile, you have a 2004?
You can see the wiring diagrams at the top of this page:
JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
Open the diagram for your year and scroll down to figure 13.1. You will see two pumps listed. Reading between the lines, the pump for the windshield is called the (wait for it...) "Windshield Washer Pump". In that case, the pump for the headlight washers is the "Power Wash Pump".
I have no experience with the headlight washers on a Jaguar, but on some other cars they pop up when the fluid line is pressurized. There is no electrical actuator to raise and lower the washer nozzles. Because I don't see anything other than the Power Wash Pump in the headlight washer system, I think that is how Jaguar did it, too.
If all my conjecture is correct, you can disable the Power Wash Pump by pulling fuse F11 in the front power distribution box under the hood. Try that and see what happens.
