My 2003 str was recently wrecked in front , the grill , headlight drivers side , the hood and the bumper . The guy at jaguar says my car has to have parts 02 and a half on up and the bumper must come from a r type . Is this true and what parts are interchangeable and where can I look to find out . Thanks in advance . Would like to post pic if I could .

 

The bumper part is correct, I don't think its the same as an 2002. 2003 is the facelift, so some things cosmetically will be different. As for the parts behind the bumper, they will most likely be different as well because the R has extra components in the front. Myabe someone with access to the parts catalogue might be able to shed more light on this.

 

JEPC is a free download, so anyone can have at it. Bucwin's location is a mystery. If in the UK, 2002.5 is correct. MY 2003 was the changeover for the US, UK was 2002.5 in their model year numerology, I don't know what "Rest of World' or other specific markets followed, but it would be one of the two.

In any case, you need to be armed with the last 6 of your VIN to buy the proper parts.

 

Where I am, in NZ currently, its the same as UK.

 

2002.5 to 2004 STR have a different front bumper and under tray to the rest of the s types . and the later 05 onwards have a 3'' longer nose and do not interchange .
you could retro fit a non r front bumper from a 2002.5 to 2004 s type , but it will then be missing the intercooler vents . the r under tray is also vented underneath to expel air from the intercooler/oil cooler . so best to keep it R

iv'e not long been through the same issue , as i hit a wild pig . fixed the car up then hit a massive cat both times with in a few months of each other .
i had to have the bumper plastic welded twice . also had to replace the front under tray , $700nzd and a few other bits including fog lights / fog light brackets / intercooler and radiator. total cost was around $4500nzd for the pig and $700 for the cat.
there are no front bumpers in new zealand for the STR . i checked . but archablds can supply new . i didnt even ask the price . but judging by the price of the under tray alone i dont want to know . there are two 03-04 STR bumpers on ebay . this one is new and cheep but shipping wont be .
