HELP Purchasing A Jaguar S-Type R I Have Some General Questions ?
Im new to Jaguars and am so enthusiastic about the cars. I never owned a Jag beforebut I found a deal I just cannot pass up on. I found a nice S-Type R with 67K Miles loaded with DVD Navi and has some warranty Select 100K Plan on it for $18,500. Im planning on purchasing an S-Type R Series on Friday. I was reading the specs on this car and Im so amazed. Was thinking about purchasing a 2002 M3 for 22K but I like this Jaguar. I didnt know they had a special R Series line that has cars with 400 Horsepower thats Supercharged. This seems like the best deal I ever heard of.I talked to the owner and I cant wait to pick it up Im so excited.This will be my first fast car. However I had some general questions. How is the reliabilty of the S-Type R ?I never owned a Jag so give me some of your experiences. Also how does Select 100K Warranty Plan works ?

futurestyper if you go under your link im pretty sure the person selling itwas a member that got banned here and other forums his screenname was frombenz2jag and someone in the bimmer forums says that he was saying something about his headlights and thats what he was bragging about over here.so im pretty sure it's him.Get more info with our members before you get that s-type r

Well the guy who is selling the car is nice. Im going to buy this one because he is giving me the lowest price, plus his car has warranty.Iseen another one but nobody beats this price. Also there is only 2 in the area and i need to buy a new car. I always wanted a fast car. This car is nice.

Guys calm down. The car is mines Im the owner. To the OP disregard what these people are saying to you on the forum. When you come see my car on Friday, we can take it to a Jaguar dealership to make sure its a Select Edition Warranty car. They can also inspect the car as well. Again the car is in prestine condition and you will love the quickness of the S-Type R.

Just ask him if the self leveling headlights work properly or if they don't will the warranty cover them. I really hate to see someone that could potentially be a happy Jag. owner get ripped off by this guy on their first Jag. and then have bad feelings about the brand!

Well Im purchasing this car. I cannot find another 03 S-Type R around here with warranty plus this car is the cheapest I found period. So this is the best deal plus it has a whole lot of options like dvd navi. Im so excited. Im going to pick up the car tommorow. I talked to the owner and everything works fine. He replaced tires, rotors, brake pads, and headlights as well. He also has all the service records and hasnt had one problem with the car. I will take it by Jaguar so they can inspect it tommorow. Other than I cant wait to drive the R. This will be my first fast car. 400hp Supercharged for $18,500 is an excellent deal

Guys the car is mine and not frombenz2jag. I got 6 people intrested in my car. The first one shows me the money gets it. Anyways OP you wont be discouraged your in for a treat. I get an adrenaline rush each time Im behind the wheel. Its fast. And for the price its cheaper than most performance cars. Plus it has Jaguar Select Edition 100K Warranty too !!!

The select edition warranty is 100,000 miles or 6 years from delivery, whichever comes first. My select edition warranty expires in November this year. You can give the VIN number to any Jag dealer and they can lookup the exact date that it expires. The warranty does not cover a lot of stuff, but overall I am pretty satisfied with it. Even with the warranty, you probably should have a mechanic check it out before you buy it.
As far as reliability goes, I would say that they are not the most reliable car. A lot depends on the previous owner(s) and part of it depends on the car itself. It seems like someof the Jagsare always having problems.
