SubscribeHelppp I bought a stock gps screen to put in my car and it doesn’t plug in. Is there a kit I need to get or a harness ?
You have not given any details about your S-type, i.e., year etc. (See my group signature for an example.)
The S-type GPS screen RGB video signal is powered from the navigation DVD drive in the boot/trunk. This navigation DVD drive only works when connected to the head unit via the d2b fibre network.
There is also a separate unit that links the head unit to the climate control, mounted behind the head unit. This is needed as the screen has the climate controls.
Yes there is also a short wiring harness.
So, as well as the actual screen unit you will also need:
The navigation DVD player in the boot/trunk + a valid map DVD disk.
The climate control link module.
The short wiring harness.
A d2b fibre lead.
After all that you may need to use the Jaguar software to activate it all.
Up to 04MY (made in 2003) you need IDS from 05MY (made in 2004) onwards you need SDD.
So, it is not an easy swap and what you get is just not worth the effort in my opinion.
