if you have the money go gor the lower miles, but if iit was me i would go for the green and offer 16000 plus fees. just bought a 2005 str black perfect car n. ot even a diing in feb 09. same price 17999 offered 3 hours of back and forth got 16400 otd with only 51k
good luck........
good luck........
Red with lower miles for sure, offer 19k and should be a deal. On top of it, I absolutely despise green, and only belongs on Buick LeSabres IMHO. Sorry Harouq.
Make sure the navigation disc is in there. Do either of them still have the factory warranty? Also check out the tire tread, they are not cheap on STRs. Good luck.
PS look for a black one

i agree with bulls on this one, i would look into the red one. Plus when a new car dealer keeps cars on their lots, they are usually in pristine condition. The used car dealer most likely bought theirs at the auction and may not know the history behind who owned it. I would definitely look at the red one versus the green one for that simple reason alone.
As a side note, you might want to contact Galpin Jaguar in Van Nuys, Ca. Ask to see what "R"'s they have in the "collection". I used to work there, hint hint.

And most of the stuff in the collection, is not in the online searches, just an fyi.

Montclair ?? That's about 6-7 miles from here, I've driven by there a few times. I agree with phd12volt, a car dealer would have better ones in stock than someone like West Coast Sales. A Jag dealer would even be better yet.
Don't Galpin's prices seem a bit high ???
Have you checked out other area Jag dealers for an STR??
MAKE SURE THERE IS THE FACTORY CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY in effect on the one you purchase, it'll be worth it in the long run.
Good luck...

they are very high, as usual, like i said i used to work there for a couple of years. Although their cars are usually very pristine especially if they keep them on the lot.
I fell in love with the STR because i worked there, i blame them for it now!!!!

You can also ask for a Carfax which will give you some idea of the history of the car.
The green car was probably traded-in at a new car dealership, sent to auction, and picked-up by this small dealer. Maybe the dealership just didn't want a Jag (or a Jag with 60k miles), or they already had too many S-Types on their lot, or maybe the car looks worn-out in person (usually the case) or has other issues? My advice is to look at as many cars as you can and work the price on all of them that you like. If the dealer happens to have paid an extemely low price, they may be more willing to sell to you for a lower price. Lower miles should be cheaper but you have to decide how much it's worth to you.

I purchased my 2005 S Type R from Texascarsdirect. Great people to deal with and you will NOT find a better price. It's a no haggle no pressure seller. You come and look at the car if you want. I purchased mine sight unseen. The good deals are usually purchased from the incoming inventory list. So they are sold before they hit the lot. I flew to Dallas and they picked me up at the airport. Car was a almost perfect one owner with 34K miles and still had 9 months factory warranty.
Funny thing when I picked it up. Drove off the showroom and turned down the street trying to adjust everything to fit me. Grabbed the rear view mirror and it came off in my hand!!
Turned right back around and drove the two blocks back to the dealership, where the salesman fell all over himself apologizing!! Luckily the glass guys were there replacing some windshields and fixed it immediately. Had to drive around for 3 days with no rear view mirror while the adhesive set up. Looking closer I think they put a new windshield in because mine is perfect and with 34K miles it should have some pitting and small impact craters.
I also got a new set of tires but they are Nexen brand which is about the cheapest 18" tire you can buy. Already have replaced two. One had a bad belt and one picked up a nail in a unrepairable spot on the tire. Since I was not the original purchaser of the tires they would not replace the tire with the bad belt. So not to impressed with Nexen other than price. They do seem to be a decent riding and handling tire.

Great prices, found out later mostly off lease and rental returns. No big deal.
They sold me mine with a totaly bald spare(my fault for not checking)but I caught it within 3 days and they did nothing for me.
Also the cd changer was missing the magazine for the 6 pack did nothing for me.
Upon closer inspection the car had some paint work done that they admitted to doing without disclosure, great paint work so no biggy with me.I just wish they disclosed it.
If you also think you are getting a southern salt free car don't be fooled they buy and bring their cars in from all around the country.
I tried to buy my second Jag from them but at that time they had nothing in stock I wanted. I was also a very informed Jag buyer second time around.

I was so impressed when I got home I purchased an 05 X-Type Sportwagon for "she who must be obeyed" and had it shipped to Seattle where my wife flew in and drove it home. Another low mile, mint example. Both transactions smooth - these folks have been doing this for some time and have earned an excellent reputation...
I searched a long time to find a mint low mileage STR in White and it paid off.

I went to the dealer who has the green Jag and looked around the lot. They have all late model cars there...M'Benz, 'Vettes, Beemers, Audi's, Lexus, Infinities, most '06 and newer. All were very clean and shiny on the outside and looked very nice on the inside. One guy was there detailing the left rear wheel on one of the cars...
No sales people around even though I wandered around the lot for 10 minutes.
The Jag's exterior looked very nice, no dents or dings, looked liked it was just polished. the interior looked good also. The window had the "warranty" on it...30 days or 1000 miles for just the engine and tranny.
This place does look like it buys auction/repo's and I don't think I would get a car from them, even though some/most would still be under factory warranty. Just MHO.
