Just got her back yesterday from paint shop fixing vandalism scratches. I have used the shop for years and they never disappoint. The work is great and their detail wash is worth 200. I have not seen those rims shine like that in i dont know when. 195,000 miles. Can you believe it
closer look
i really want to replace the R badges while they are available. They would make that look pop
I liked mine but chrome is out of style these days. My only complaint is any alloy wheel that is chrome plated (NOT powder coated) will eventually start cracking the chrome plating because of the different expansion rates of chrome and Aluminum.
Mine were not bad but the cracks were growing when I sold the car. Started in the corners and creases of the rim.
You do bring up another issue and that is with PC rims you can repair and redo the coating without much cost. My current Jag is a 2014 XJR and of course I stupidly curbed a couple of rims! Turned out OK because when I went to a PC shop he convinced me to just bite the bullet and get all 4 stripped and re-coated. He said trying to match factory colors would be impossible as the rims were several years old so some fading had occurred.
Really made the car look better. I went with a satin metallic black which I liked a lot.
Have you noticed any cracking of the chrome on yours?

No peeling chrome. Only curb rash and some slight pimples near the base of the spokes. I actually had a rim crack and bent a bit from these rotten freeways in california. Found a guy who fixed it beautifully and trued it for 100 bucks. I am honestly amazed at how well they take pothole abuse and cleaned up
