i just recieved my performance intake kits from jaguar xp & after installation on the 0-60 about 70% of my power is gone i cant even spin my tires with traction off & im not getting a error code. at higher speeds it feels normal. after making sure nothing is blocking the air way i put back on the factory intake & its performance is back to 100%....im lost this is just not making any sense to me lol plzz any help. thanks, Mike

The jag is a complicated machine. Not everything aftermarket will improve you car. I have heard someone else tried the jag xp intake kit on their XK (r i think) and it didn't make any difference. He sent it back for a refund.

yeah i agree with H20, you got to be careful. my dealer said it will void your warranty too if you have select edition so watch out!

CHECK THE INTAKE METICULOUSLY FOR LEAKS! Another owner just had this problem (look about 9 posts down), and his had a noticeable leak around one of the couplers, which impedes low end performance greatly, not to mention possible engine damage from unmetered air entering the engine causing a lean condition and possible pre-detonation (commonly called pinging) which is not good on forced induction engine with a high dynamic compresion ratio.

(wow that was the run-on sentence from hell!)

I know quite a bit of people have been knocking these short ram intakes like the one sold by JaguarXP, but for argument sake I just purchased it to try it out on my 2000 S-type 4.0 and I won't go back. For those of you who dislike the item or seem to lose power and what not, you need to make sure the item is installed properly. It did take me more then the 20 minutes suggested by XP and I did have to fiddle around with the intake for a bit but after a proper installation the cat growls like never before and dose move quicker. I know this because I took the XP intake out after installing it and went back to the stock intake for about 5 minutes and hated it. Needless to say the XP version is in my car now and I won't go back to the old one.

Just my opinion.

Thanks 4 all replys every1 but i am still having a problem with the intake i tried everything i could think of 2 get it working. i even tried differnt size K&N filters 2 see if maybe im not getting enough air or 2 little. i talked 2 sum1 they said i should change my sparkplugs & clean the throttle body & see if that makes a difference. im jus waiting 2 do that & reinstall the intake again & hopefully that will do the job. it did sound 10 times better then the stock & i really want it my car so im not gonna give up on it yet lol

PLugs and throttle body wont make a difference if when you take the intake back off it goes back to normal.
You may want to find somewhere with a dyno and run it with intake on and off for a comparison.

Did you try unplugging your battery to reset everything with the new intake?
