Default Intermittent starting problems

From time to time, My 2005 has issues starting up. It has three possible outcomes. One, it starts right up and there is ZERO issue... Two, it starts but goes into a SUPER rough idle to the point that even if you step on the gas it bogs down and continues to act like its not getting enough fuel to all cylinders . Three, it cranks on and on like it is completely out of fuel. In scenario, two and three, if I shut it down and wait for 5 to ten min it generally will start with ZERO issue and run completely fine. I've went days without any starting issues, and then out of the blue I have the same issue for two or three starts and then bam, back to normal for a while .. No clue where to start looking .

I will be interested in answers to your problem as mine did the same thing yesterday with the rough idle when started then restart and drive with no problem.

Maybe a coil is starting to break down? Throttle body wiring? ignition switch fault, immobilizer module. Just a few ideas, How is your battery?

Do you notice if weather is a factor? e.g. Temp, rain, humidity level?

Also, be sure your battery is FULLY charged before troubleshooting. Undercharged batteries, even relatively new ones, can cause problems on these cars and may make troubleshooting more difficult or even completely unnecessary.

I may put a trickle charger on it, The car is not a daily driver so it sits in the garage for a week or two at a time. Perhaps the trickle charger will help level things out. Someone also said possible fuel pump issue, so I may look into that .

It's common wisdom on this forum to always see the battery as something you should rule out first, given how many false positive codes may be thrown by low voltage i.e. < 12.6v. I'm anxious to see how this plays out. Good luck!
