Default Jaguar Emblem

Well fellas someone has stolen the emblem off my hood, after only 2.5months of owning the car. These suckers seem to be quite expensive to replace (150 - 180 on ebay). Does anyone have a hook up? Has this happened to you? Thanks for your help.

pissed off corey

work hard to have nice things and this is what you get.....[>:]

I did some online browsing for you. It seems 150-180 on ebay seems to be thecheapest deal around. I guess you will be spending over 100 for sure. Also check your local junkyards. BTW where do you live/where was the car parked?? Was ita rough area??

Sorry to hear that happened to you. From what Ive been reading on this forum, this is apparently a common problem for Jag owners. I personally have not had this happen ***knock wood***, but I wont be surprised if it does. Some people here just suggest you get a flat Growler emblem and forget the Leaper, but I couldnt imagine my Jag without the Leaper. I may just buy a few and stock up for when it happens, lol. Good luck.

No its a nicer area, but its a condo complex so we dont have garages. My vehicles are parked directly outside my bedroom window. Literally 10ft. I noticedthe emblem was onyesterday, so it either happened last night or today while I was grocery shopping at SAMS CLUB.

Only several weeks after we purchased our S Type we went to a pub. I parked it directly outside the glass entrance door so I could keep an eye on it..just in case. When we went to leave I noticed my leaper was twisted sideways. I was pretty pissed but alsoglad they didn't succeed in removing it.

If that is the case, then Jags from the past (cuz new jags do not have leapers) should have had serial numbers on theirleapers so you can track them. If it shows up on Ebay you can take legal action against the seller.

That is clever.

Just for your FYI i talked to a buddy who owns a German Auto Parts store, he can get a Mercedes hoodemblem at dealer cost for $22.50.

While at the local Jaguar dealership dealer cost for the leaper is $225.00. [:@]

Here I come EBAY! $150.00 doesnt look so bad anymore.

I pay a $100 premium on my insurance that lowers my deductible to $100. So it only costs me $100 when it happens... Actually, the last time it happened the cost for repair was just over $1,000. The hood was slightly damaged...

Indexcrown, X and S emblems and leapers should be interchangeable as long as you have the large and small holes (NA models) in your bonnet. I'm one of the ones that changed out my leaper on my X for a 3.0 Sport "badge". Personally I like it better.
