Post Jaguar S-Type 2.7D doesn't Start ?

Hello

I'm not a very big participant on this forum but we continu to use with frugality the S-Type 2.7D of my old father. I drive it each month or for a week-end: this spring to go to the Classic Days to "Le Mans" or my brother for a week end to the house's country.

Dad's Jag - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

We had a problem because te car doesn't start sometimes ... The batery is fresh (2 years ago - a Jaguar for keep the good incorporation)

We don't have dash light... but not also Scan

If you have idea, we are lessee !

Thanks

Can you please elaborate?

Does the starter operate normally and gets the crankshaft spinning at a good speed, but the engine won't run?

Is the starter speed slow or sluggish?

Maybe no response from the starter, or it makes only a buzz or clunk?

Very different troubleshooting for each scenario, so more details will be a big help.

No just for moment, the car doesn't want to run during the hot days with a hot engine.

There are nothing !

The starter operate dosen't run (électrical or electronic problem ?)

The battery was change recently ( jaguar OEM) but we are to start with the battery cable.

The car was rarely used also but we don't have problem to run start when it is on the garage.

Two years old is not "new" for an auto battery, particularly one which may not get fully charged with the limited driving you describe.

That said, when I had similar symptoms on my 3.0, the culprit ended up being a faulty starter. You need to get a volt/multi-meter and check the battery voltage while static, (with a helper) while starting and the alternator voltage while running; then come back to us with those readings. I cannot speak for how things are done in France, but here in the States, most auto parts stores will check the condition of your battery free of charge. The battery should be fully charged prior to testing. Do you have a battery charger?

Maybe the starter is on fault or a brake pedal sensor...

This is not the symptoms about the old battery.

I will drop the car to the garage to seck that.
