I replaced the water hose under the manifold on a 2005 4.2 NON supercharged

Everything back together now I have a tinny sounding knock/ping.
Removed and replaced a second time to double check everything was done correctly. Motor starts and runs just fine except for the noise. It increases with RPM. I did start the car with 2 wire plugs not together (drivers side that come up from under the manifold and connect to harness) and got a "reduced performance" warning on the dash. Now no warnings on the dash and no check engine lights but a ping.
Ideas????

 

I don't know what ping means, I would use stethoscope.
