Default Leaper Trunk badge instead of SType???

Need opinions. I like doing different things to my car to make it unique, and my eyes keep telling me something needs to be done in the a*s end area. I have been trying to figure something out and I may have come up with it. I havent completely thought this through so tell me if it a dumb idea, but one thing is for certain, for some reason, I do not like the "S TYPE" badge on the rear left of the trunk. So I was thinking of taking it off and just adding a leaper like the new XF's have in the center of the trunk lid. So basically I would have the leaper on the left side (jumping left) and the "R" on the right side. Nice clean look. If you dont like the leaper idea, any other nice Jag badges you can think of? Regardless, I think its time for the SType to get a move on! Thoughts?

I like the S-Type badge on the rear, but I readily admit that I'm not one to spend $ on pure cosmetics....

Just an FYI for anyone else thinking about doing this. The OEM leaper that comes on the center trunk lid of the XF is 16cm. This is TOO big for the left side of the SType, the section where the badge would go is only approx 5 inches or @13cm. The only option here is to get the smaller one, made for the fenders. www.adamesh.co.uk has them. They are 8 cm long or approx 3 inches.

I have not determined yet if the smaller 3 inch leaper would look good where the SType badge is. It may be too small. Considering just one of these things is $32 shipped, I would hate to do trial and error and throw that money down the drain if it doesnt look right.

Yes. You need to get the smaller one made for the fender. Orrrrrrrr you can get the large one and put it under the spoiler in the same placement as the XF. Was contemplating that.

Different is good. The center leaper under the spoiler would look good.

Never said top of spoiler, I said "under" the spoiler. In between the spoiler and the section that says "JAGUAR". Take a look at the *** end of your car man, you will see the area I am talking about. Yes it is slightly curves, as is pretty much every area of the rear, even where the stype badge is. The badge is plastic, not metal, with that double sided tape will stick right on there.

Bought the smaller one, was a hard decision to either put it below the spoiler or on the left side where the SType was. After 20 minutes of deliberation, under the spoiler won. Crappy pics from my Blackberyy put you get the point. Definately cleans up the as* end alot. Im liking it.

That cat looks sweet on the back of your car. Good choice. Also nice ride! Are your rear lights smoked? Looks like a light smoke? Love the exhausts too, are they the tip add ons or an exhaust system?

Thanks man, the badge actually looks alot better in person now that I'm looking at the pics. I believe all STR's have smoked tailights, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I have some new rear turn signal bulbs to get rid of that amber "egg yoke" look. Look silver when off but flash amber when on. Regarding the exhaust, the huge STR resonators were taken out, and welded new pipes and resonators on it, just cat back. Pretty damn loud.

Thanks for the pics Bull, that's hot right there. I love the look of the tips as well as what you did with the exhaust system. I know what you're talking about when you mention the orange bulbs, i already swapped them out to chromes as well, and it's a day and night difference on the look vs. the orange glaring look. Also wanted to smoke the tail lights along with the side markers, but didn't want to go all out dark so the cops won't bother. But that's something I'm still debating on doing, however i do like the look of the smoked lights.

That looks cool but left side of the trunk is dead empty . I think you should find something to add there but that's up to you

Bull, truly a beautiful vehicle!!! I have to agree with Cadillac on his statement, looks a bit unbalanced to me as well.

Thanks all for the compliments, but you had to go get my mind churning again didn't ya ! I have another "R" badge coming that isn't blocky, its just an R. That will replace the original seeing as there is a slight peel.

I guess I can look into one of those thin supercharged emblems that are on the XK I believe and put it on the left side. We will see how it looks once i get the new R badge on there. The purpose of doing this was to clean up the rear a little bit if it looks "unbalanced" thats a problem.
