A Monkey ate my S-Type
For those of you who know Longleat Safari Park you will know that the most stupid thing you can do is drive your Jaguar through the monkey enclosure as the little darlings will set about your pride and joy and tear off anything not nailed down.
Guess what I did.
Anyway, the only major wound was that one of the little scamps (not the description I used on the day) managed to get the circular growler badge off the boot switch. I've tried to locate a replacement badge, even contacting Jaguar directly, and the only solution is to buy a new switch!
Anyone know where I can get a replacement badge without the lunacy of buying the switch as well?
By the way, they also attacked the screen washer jets. Two of them. Each trying to eat a jet. One managed to pop his out the bonnet (hood for my American friends). I managed to delay further vandalism by squirting the little chaps with washer fluid (no, it did not harm them) but all that did ws give them something to drink. In other words, whilst they worked hard at destroying my car I assisted by giving them refreshment.
Oh well, at least the monkeys had fun.

You may want to expand the description of your car--year etc for other members to assist you better.
Thanks GoKitty, good point. Still need to get my profile sorted. Its a 2003 v6 2.5 for anyone who has any ideas. Of course, if you go to a pub and a chap with a hairy face and knuckles that drag on the ground tries to flog you an S Type growler badge, please let me know.
It's a tragedy you didn't have a camcorder when all this happened. You could have a viral hit.
Maybe a song re-work is in the works.
Five little monkeys jumping on the Jag, one stole the growler and then he fled...

No scrapes apart from paint chips on the washers jets easily fixed with a little touch up. But the lost boot badge is really bugging me!

Well after a few days of searching I bought a second hand boot switch with the badge from eBay. I just removed the badge from the switch and with a bit of powerful glue all is well again.
In ya face monkeys!

Glad it worked out favorably for you. Next time you decide to head to the drive-through monkey park, make sure you're in a rental car. And take a fully-loaded Super Soaker with you....
Reminds me of watching a band of monkeys tearing a soft vinyl topped cadillac
covering all the way over the trunk at Great Adventure Safari Park here in New
Jersey,USA back in the 70's. It was surreal !!!!
Glad you got resolved.

Hi Matt and yes that is what I was looking for. But no worries the used one I got was in perfect condition but hopefully this thread will help others who have had primate issues with their Jag.
Thanks for that though, appreciated.
