My STR tried to kill me at 80mph lol
On the Florida turnpike yesterday I was going 80-90mph with a BMW X5 playing "follow the leader." the roads were slightly damp, not wet, but damp. Anyway, I was I got on the right lane because I thought the BMW wanted to pass, but instead he stayed slightly behind me and on the left lane. I wanted to pass another car on the right lane, but that Beemer got closer and to get back over would cut him off which I certainly didn't want to do. So I thought to mash the throttle, pull some distance, and then get back over to the left lane, there is where traction control saved my life!
So at 80 mph (!!!) I hit the gas paddle and the back end started to buck out slightly for a slight moment before traction control kicked in and kept me out of the ditches! these car are monsters! You could spin at 80mph on a slightly damp road without the computers there saving you!
The Beemer probably noticed something happened before traction control stepped in, and backed up a little lol. Scary, but I'm thankful for that traction control. By the way, I was not in sport mode and I have full tread Michelin Pilot Sports!

Depending on how many RPM's you had going and.... (how much oil slipped up through the surface of the asphalt or concrete), when drawing on those horses, it can be lethal if not administered mildly.
Superchargers deliver power throughout the range of the Tach. I'm glad you're ok.

I'm happy you're ok. I have a STR also and it's a beast. Doesn't matter what speed you're going, she's going to put out if you mash the throttle. When I lived in Italy, I had a Maserati 422 BiTurbo and learned the "torque" lesson the hard way. The road was slightly damp and I was changing gears. I gave it a little too much gas and came off the clutch a little too fast. For what seemed like an eternity, I was on the fastest merry-go-round there is. Now, I'm bit more cognizant when the pavement is wet. I'm sure with all the torque my STR has, without traction control, I would be in a spin again.
At 80 it would kick down into 3rd gear at higher RPMs; the STR is putting a lot of power to wheels at 5k rpms and the lack of a limited slip rear end (even with one possibly) can cause a loss of grip on wet roads.
